We understand that raising concerns, seeking support or reporting something that has affected you or someone else can feel difficult. By providing your contact details, you are allowing us to understand your situation more fully and, where appropriate, offer advice, support and guidance.
This reporting route can be used if:
- You have experienced something yourself and would like support.
- You are worried about another student, colleague or member of the University community.
- You wish to discuss a safeguarding concern.
- You want advice about your options before deciding what to do next.
- You would like the University to consider informal or formal action.
- You have witnessed behaviour that concerns you.
Once your report is received, it will be reviewed by an appropriate member of the Report + Support team.
Depending on the nature of the concern, we may:
- Contact you to discuss what has happened.
- Offer support, advice or guidance.
- Help you understand available options.
- Signpost you to specialist services.
- Assess any safeguarding or welfare concerns.
- Consider whether further action is required under University policies or procedures.
Providing your contact details allows us to communicate with you, seek clarification where needed and ensure that concerns are assessed appropriately.
If you are reporting concerns about another person, we may need to discuss with you what information can be shared and any safeguarding responsibilities that apply.
Your information will be handled sensitively and in accordance with our Privacy Notice and relevant data protection legislation.
