If a concern is raised, this does not automatically mean that you will be referred to a Fitness to Practise Panel.
The University policy specifically requires consideration of whether a concern would be better addressed through student support rather than a formal panel process.
An initial assessment may therefore consider:
- what has happened;
- the seriousness of the concern;
- whether there is an ongoing risk;
- whether this is an isolated or persistent concern;
- your insight into what has happened;
- any relevant personal circumstances;
- support or adjustments that may be appropriate;
- the requirements of your profession;
- whether the concern can be appropriately managed without formal proceedings.
