Having somewhere safe and suitable to live can have a significant impact on your wellbeing and your ability to study and work

Housing difficulties can happen for many reasons. You do not have to be sleeping on the street before you can ask for help.

You may need support if:

  • you have nowhere to stay tonight;
  • you are sleeping rough;
  • you are sofa surfing or staying temporarily with friends or family;
  • you have been asked to leave where you are living;
  • you have received notice from your landlord;
  • you are worried about eviction;
  • you have rent arrears;
  • you cannot afford your current accommodation;
  • you are leaving an abusive or unsafe home;
  • your relationship or family circumstances have broken down;
  • your accommodation is unsafe or unsuitable;
  • you are experiencing serious disrepair, damp, mould or other housing conditions;
  • you are experiencing problems with a private landlord;
  • you have children or other people who depend on you and your housing situation is becoming unstable; or
  • your housing situation is beginning to affect your studies, placement, health or wellbeing.

You do not need to wait until you become homeless before asking for help.
