If you have experienced bullying, harassment, discrimination, hate crime, sexual misconduct, abuse or any other behaviour that has made you feel unsafe, upset or uncomfortable, support is available.
The University of Wolverhampton is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for students, staff and visitors.

Find a Safe Space
If an incident has just occurred, consider moving to a place where you feel safe and supported.
This might be:
- with trusted friends, family members or colleagues
- in a public place
- in a University building
- at home
- with a support service
If you are feeling overwhelmed, seek support from somebody you trust or access one of the support services listed below.
Understanding What Has Happened
Sometimes it can be difficult to know whether what you have experienced is:
- bullying
- harassment
- discrimination
- hate-related behaviour
- sexual misconduct
- abuse
- stalking
- coercive or controlling behaviour
- another form of inappropriate conduct
You do not need to decide this before seeking support.
If something has happened that has left you feeling unsafe, intimidated, distressed or concerned, we encourage you to seek advice or make a report.
Report a Concern
The University provides several ways to report concerns and access support.
Report a Concern
Use this route if you would like the University to know who you are and contact you regarding your report.
You can raise concerns:
- about yourself
- about another student
- about a member of staff
- about a safeguarding issue
- about harassment, bullying or discrimination
- about hate incidents or hate crimes
- about sexual misconduct
- about well-being or welfare concerns
Anonymous Reporting
If you do not feel comfortable identifying yourself, you can make an anonymous report.
You can also choose to use anonymous two-way messaging, allowing you to receive advice and guidance from a University adviser without revealing your identity.
What Happens Next?
If you submit a report, a trained member of staff will review the information provided and consider the most appropriate next steps.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- providing advice and guidance
- offering safeguarding support
- discussing reporting options
- signposting to specialist services
- considering whether further action is required
You will not be pressured into making a formal complaint.
