You may be reading this because you are worried about a friend, classmate or colleague.
You don't need to be certain that something is wrong before asking for advice.
You can:
- listen without judging;
- take what they tell you seriously;
- ask what would help them feel safer;
- encourage them to access appropriate support;
- contact emergency services if somebody is in immediate danger;
- contact Safeguarding for advice about a serious concern.
Avoid trying to investigate what happened yourself.
