Substance use can sometimes become a medical emergency.
Call 999 if somebody:
- is unconscious or cannot be properly woken;
- is having serious difficulty breathing;
- has a seizure;
- becomes severely confused or unresponsive;
- has taken an overdose and is seriously unwell;
- is experiencing another immediately life-threatening reaction.
If you are on University premises, University Security can also be contacted.
Do not delay emergency medical help because you are worried that somebody has used an illegal drug.
The immediate priority is safety.
