It can be easy to minimise passive thoughts because you may feel:

“I wouldn’t actually do anything.”

That may be true.

But you still deserve support.

Thoughts can change, particularly when somebody becomes more distressed, isolated, exhausted or overwhelmed.

Seeking support while thoughts are still passive can give you more opportunity to understand:

what is making life difficult → what is helping you cope → what might make things safer → who you could turn to if things became worse.

Early support is not an overreaction.

It is prevention.
