There are sensible things we can all do to look after ourselves and each other.
But safety advice should never become victim-blaming.
Someone who experiences harassment, violence, sexual assault, spiking, robbery, or another crime is not responsible for another person's decision to harm them because they walked alone, drank alcohol, wore headphones, went on a night out, or trusted somebody.
Our priority after something has happened is to help you become safe, understand your options, and access support.
