A Digital Safety Plan is a practical plan developed with you.

It is not simply a list of instructions.

The aim is to understand:

what is happening → what matters to you → what feels unsafe → what you want to keep using → what changes may reduce risk → what to do if the situation escalates.

Your plan may include things such as:

  • recognising your own early warning signs;
  • reviewing privacy settings;
  • strengthening account security;
  • changing passwords where safe to do so;
  • enabling two-factor authentication;
  • reviewing location sharing;
  • checking connected devices;
  • blocking or reporting accounts where appropriate;
  • protecting bank or payment information;
  • preserving evidence safely;
  • identifying trusted people;
  • planning what to do if contact continues;
  • knowing when to involve police or other services.

Your existing Digital Safety Plan also places emphasis on keeping support personal and practical, including trusted contacts, account security and clear steps to follow if things go wrong.
