Sometimes thoughts move beyond wishing not to be alive and become more directly about suicide.
You may begin thinking about ending your life or wondering how you might do so.
If this is happening, tell somebody as soon as you can.
If you begin to feel that you may act on those thoughts, have begun preparing to do so, or cannot keep yourself safe, seek urgent help.
If there is an immediate threat to life, call 999 or go to an Emergency Department.
A mental health emergency should be treated as seriously as a physical health emergency. The University’s current Mental Health & Wellbeing guidance gives the same advice.
