Where an initial investigation concludes that there is a case to answer about whether a student's Fitness to Practise may be impaired, the matter may be referred for formal consideration under the University's Fitness to Practise procedure.

The University's procedure requires the process to be proportionate and to balance the interests of:

  • patients, clients, pupils or the public;
  • relevant professional requirements; and
  • the student.

You should be informed about the concerns and have an opportunity to provide your account.

The University's formal procedure sets out how Fitness to Practise Panels operate, including representation, evidence, hearings and decision-making.
